Dr. Sikora graduated from the Child Clinical Psychology program at West Virginia University before completing an APA-approved internship and post-doctoral residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She then spent over 20 years as an assistant and associate professor at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, OHSU. While at OHSU, Dr. Sikora completed thousands of diagnostic evaluations in collaboration with physicians and other allied health professionals. She published over 30 articles and book chapters on topics related to autism, differential diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders. She started the CDRC Autism Program together with other faculty members. Dr. Sikora moved to the Providence Children’s Developmental Institute in 2012 where she developed their psychological services and interdisciplinary diagnostic program.
At Sunbreak Therapy Services, Dr. Sikora specializes in the evaluation of suspected autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. As part of an interdisciplinary evaluation with a speech pathologist and occupational therapist, Dr. Sikora conducts comprehensive assessments that not only give you an accurate diagnosis, but also address medical, physical, social, and family contributions to your child’s difficulties. Targeted recommendations provide you with a road map to follow when accessing services, including services here at Sunbreak, and/or further evaluations. Dr. Sikora has collaborated with the educational community since 1988 and offers direct support in working with educators to develop a successful school program for your child. Regular communication with your child’s primary care provider ensures coordinated care across different medical systems.
When not working with children and their families, Dr. Sikora enjoys spending time outdoors: hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. She loves to travel, read fiction (only books with happy endings), and “hang out” with her friends, husband and adult children.
